BIG HEARTS GALA: EVENT DETAILS FOR OUR GUESTS

The day of our second #BigHeartsGala has arrived and we can’t wait to welcome guests to Tynecastle Park this evening!

The event in aid of the Club’s official charity invites football personalities and supporters to come together to enjoy a memorable night out in Gorgie. Celebrating football in all its forms whilst raising funds to help change the lives of local families in need!

On arrival, guests will enjoy a drinks reception before sitting down to a 3-course meal prepared by Tynecastle’s award-winning chefs. The event will be hosted by Heart of Midlothian’s Graeme Easton.

Here’s what else you can expect on the night…

Hearts Legends Q&A
With regrets, Edgaras Jankauskas had to postpone his attendance at the event due to work commitments.

Fellow Lithuanian and 2006 Scottish Cup Winner Deividas Česnauskis is excited to be taking his place and joining our guest of honour – former Hearts, West Bromwich Albion and Sparta Prague forward Roman Bednar!

Roman and Deividas, who were in the Gorgie crowd at the UEFA game yesterday, are delighted to take part in the #BigHeartsGala tonight where they will share highlights from their illustrious career and behind the scenes stories of their time playing in maroon – and wining the Scottish Cup. Other football VIP’s will be joining us on the night!

Big Hearts Heroes
The event will showcase some of our vital work and how we harness the power of the Club’s badge in tackling the main challenges faced by communities across Edinburgh.

As part of our volunteering programme, and support to young people in kinship care, we will welcome Jane, a Volunteer Big Hearts Befriender.  The Big Hearts Befriending service is delivered in partnership with the charity Space & Broomhouse Hub. It involves Hearts fans volunteering with both charities to improve the emotional wellbeing of vulnerable young people. Through weekly social activities together, the service help the young person build more confidence and increase their network of friends.

Representing Football Memories, we will hear from Brian and Nadia who have been attending the weekly groups for a year. Football Memories at Big Hearts is supported by a 3-year grant from The Lodge Heart of Midlothian, based in Roseburn. The programme aims to support isolated older people and those living with dementia.  Free reminiscence sessions are hosted twice a week, where volunteers use memorabilia and quizzes to encourage lively conversations about past football games from as early as the 1950’s!

Live and silent auctions

With all money raised going to support Big Hearts’ work in the community, our charity has been working hard to make available a host of exciting prizes for our live and silent auctions!

Our guests will get the chance to go home with iconic memorabilia – including a pair of signed gloves from Club Captain and Scotland’s no.1 Craig Gordon, and a Limited-Edition Hearts Third Kit – produced especially for Big Hearts Day 2022. Along with many other ‘Money can’t buy’ prizes!  Check out what’s on offer here.

We look forward to seeing you tonight!
