THE SHED: Introducing our new community space at Tynecastle Park!

We are proud to reveal that Big Hearts’ activities will now primarily take place in a new location, at the corner of the Wheatfield and Roseburn Stands.

The charity of Heart of Midlothian FC, which has been based at Tynecastle Stadium for 15 years, will now welcome groups and host projects in the facilities previously used by the temporary ClubStore in 2017-2019.

The 400 sq metres space features a kitchen, a storage room and a wide communal room with a meeting space, laptop station, family corner and community area. It is directly accessible from the street, and only yards away from Tynecastle community pitch and Hearts’ Memorial Garden.

The new facilities have been unanimously re-named ‘The Shed’ as an affectionate tribute to the covered supporters enclosure located up above in the Wheatfield Stand from 1959 to 1994.

It took a few months for the charity staff to re-decorate and transform the place into a family-friendly & community-oriented space – which is already being put to good use to run Big Hearts’ School’s Out! and The Changing Room projects.

Innes Shirreff, Operations Manager comments:

After over a year away from the Stadium delivering support across Edinburgh to those most in need, our staff are thrilled to welcome back projects participants to Tynecastle Park in The Shed, a revamped and dedicated community space.”

“For many Hearts’ fans, ‘The Shed’ will bring back memories from another era. It is remembered as a place where fans used to meet and make social connections. We believe our 21st century version of The Shed will honour the Club’s legacy by enabling future generations of Hearts’ fans and Gorgie residents to reach their potential and create positive memories together.”
