Would you like to help Big Hearts share kindness this Christmas?
As the festive season fast approaches, Big Hearts, the official charity of Heart of Midlothian FC, today share with you our plans for the coming weeks.
We understand that this can be a challenging time for many and we encourage you, our supporters, to join us in sharing kindness throughout the local community as we continue to use the power of football to support those facing loneliness and hardship this winter.

We have a number of exciting Volunteer roles, events and activities planned throughout November and December; here’s how you can get involved with Big Hearts this Christmas…

- Buy a gift for a younger person
This year Big Hearts will work in partnership with Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids as we aim to supply
Christmas gifts for younger people within the South-West of Edinburgh. If you are interested in joining our efforts and becoming a Big Hearts Kindness Hero, more information can be found here.
- Big Hearts Movie Marathon Challenge
This festive season we invite you to take part in our brand-new fundraising challenge – The Christmas Movie Marathon! With four challenges to choose from, there is something for the whole family to enjoy! More information and sign-up details can be found here.
- Big Hearts Supporters Night
This year we have invited our Volunteers and Fundraisers to a night in the Gorgie Suite, on Wednesday 14th December. This allows us to celebrate all their achievements and say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported Big Hearts in 2022. - Monday Night Live – 12th December 2022
Everyone’s favourite podcasts are back in the Gorgie Suite for a Christmas Speacial! Join Laurie Dunsire (Scarves around the funnel) and Liam Corbett (This is my story) for an evening of laugh & banter in the Gorgie suite. Tickets incude a pie, a drink & a raffle entry with all proceeds going to support our charity’s Christmas appeal. Book on this link.
Past Opportunities:
- Wreath Making workshop
On Monday 28th November, we welcomed over 17 Kinship Carers along to Tynecastle Park to enjoy a morning of being creative and enjoying a wreath making session, along with a cuppa and a chat!
- Turn the Shed into Santa’s Grotto
On Wednesday 30th November, Big Hearts were joined by a wonderful team of volunteers to help to turn our community space into a warm, welcoming and festive environment for all our participants to enjoy.
- Help us bring joy to an older person
This winter we continue to support older people within the local community. With the help from big hearted supporters we filled and distributed 100 festive hampers to individuals from our Memories project and local care homes.
