Big Hearts Day 2017 – Thank you!

On Saturday, Big Hearts hosted a range of activities to celebrate Big Hearts Supporters, one year on. We are delighted to have reached the fantastic milestone of 1,500 registered Big Hearts Supporters! We now look forward to sharing our news and volunteering opportunities with you.

The main highlight of the day was the fantastic pre-match entertainment by 15 kinship care young people who played the drums to the 16,000 Hearts fans in attendance at Tynecastle! We would like to therefore say ‘thank you’ to our partner Mentor Scotland along with Rhythm Bridge who worked on this lovely performance across the week with the kids.

On the pitch, we saw players warming up in Big Hearts t-shirts – supplied free of charges by PPE Industrial Supplies – along with our mascots of the day – 4 kids from kinship care families. In addition, face painters and photographers were around the stadium to encourage everyone to get involved and create lovely memories. We also distributed 1,000 free copies of issue 3 of the Big Hearts Kids Special Programmes to young Jambos – and we thank DPS group who helped us make this possible!

The Big Hearts’ team would like to extend thanks to everyone involved in Big Hearts Day and wish to mention all at Heart of Midlothian, including the players who kindly agreed to include Big Hearts in their match day plans. Thank you also to our digital partner Yard who did an amazing job preparing our website ahead of Big Hearts Day. Finally, the whole day would have not been possible without our team of 12 volunteers who decided to give us their time. A massive thank you and well done!
