A new season of community activities to make Gorgie Smiles!

Big Hearts are thrilled to announce a second season of our Gorgie Smiles programme, launching on the 28th of April 2017!

Gorgie Smiles is an innovative community project aiming to help people getting involved in the welfare of their neighbourhood. Without any skills required and all equipment provided, volunteers are encouraged to give some time and care to the green spaces in the proximity of Tynecastle in a fun and positive atmosphere.

Main objectives:
– Maintain social connections with friends and neighbours
– Engage in physical activities to stay active and healthy
– Take care of the public spaces and local biodiversity
– Use community spirit to create a positive and sustainable impact

This year, we are delighted to partner again with Health All Round, who runs community health projects locally, to offer a range of regular activities between April and September 2017. We will also run special events throughout the Summer to be enjoyed by all ages in the family.

A launch event will take place on the 28th of April, open for everyone interested to know more about the project. We are looking forward to seeing as many people as possible on the day and share widely our ambition for a healthier, cleaner and happier Gorgie!
