Wellbeing Together South West

The Wellbeing Together South West partnership was set up to provide timely mental health services to young people aged 5 to 25, with 3-year funding from the Scottish Government via the City of Edinburgh Council.

Big Hearts is committed to strengthen its offer of wellbeing, distress and mental health support whilst working with other partners, schools and social workers to develop ‘seamless pathways of support’ that will best meet the local needs across South West Edinburgh.

Through Wellbeing Together South West, Big Hearts is teaming up with 3 partner organisations: the Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH), With Kids and the Space and Broomhouse Hub.

At Tynecastle Stadium, the partnership is running across 4 main projects:
That’s Me: One-to-one advice and weekly group activities focusing on emotional wellbeing.
Welcome Through Football: Social inclusion of young refugees, asylum seekers and migrants.
T.E.A.M: Weekly after school club based on equality and diversity to thrive together.
School’s Out!: Activities improving confidence and friendship of local children in various settings.

By the end of 2022, our charity aims to support around 60 young people with services that will prevent mental health challenges developing and reduce the need for them to require intensive mental health services.
