VIRTUAL FOOD DRIVE IN AID OF THE COMMUNITY ONE STOP SHOP

This year our traditional food bank appeal in aid of the Community One Stop Shop will be run virtually!

Big Hearts is joining forces with Jambos Kickback and Heart of Midlothian FC to help our local food bank face what will be a very difficult winter.

Hearts Supporters are encouraged to make an online donation via Jambos Kickback.

The funds raised will go to support local families in food poverty over Christmas and the winter.

Increasing needs

Located in Broomhouse, 10 minutes from Tynecastle Park, the Community One Stop Shop has been assisting local residents for over 18 years. The food bank usually feeds an average of 400 people every month.

However, this winter is expected to be one of their busiest ever: the volume of food parcels handed out since October rose by 50%, and the amount of people in need of support increased by 150%, compared with the same time last year.

How you can help

Last year, the generosity from Hearts fans kindly contributed 815kg of supplies and donated £2,500 which allowed the Community One Stop Shop to support hundreds of local families in crisis well into the New Year.

With a family food parcel costing around £12, the organisation is looking for financial contributions to buy essential food supplies & toiletries that will be distributed across the community.

The Hearts’ fans forum Jambos Kickback is hosting an online fundraising page and Supporters can donate until 1 December: click here.

A huge thank you in advance for your support!
