Introducing our revamped summer programme launching on 1st July!

Big Hearts’ 4th summer programme will kick-off on Monday 1st July, with a busy schedule of free activities across Tynecastle Stadium.

This year, Big Hearts has improved the range of support to meet the increasing challenges faced by local families outside of school term and to maintain a continuity in the help provided to groups most isolated, including older people.

  •  Wellbeing drop-ins open all summer: We’re delighted to be strengthening our work with SAMH and The Changing Room by delivering a new set of activities for adults. Supporters can get involved in walking, social or football sessions. It’s a fantastic chance to stay active or meet new people, and no booking is required. Have a look at the weekly calendar and come along when you fancy!Twitter post (1)

  • School’s Out! extended to 4 weeks: Our successful project for local school pupils, launched last summer with Tynecastle High School, is back for a 2nd year! Across the whole month of July, a goup of 40 young people will get to enjoy fun and educational activities – including a new radio and film making workshop, along with a free breakfast and lunch provided every day.

  • Weekly Memories Sessions: No break during July and August – our team of volunteers will keep welcoming older participants and their families/carers for our usual afternoons in the Hearts’ Museum: Football Memories and Edinburgh Memories taking place on alternate Tuesdays. We’re also going on a day trip to visit Hopetoun House, South Queensferry on the 23rd of July! Twitter post (2)

We’re grateful to receive the invaluable support from Big Hearts Volunteers, our close partner DPS Group and the local charity Cash for Kids to help make this happen and create happy memories to many vulnerable people over the summer!
