Over £2,700 raised by our Supporters at Tynecastle Race Night!

A team of 9 Hearts fans set up the fundraising event in aid of Big Hearts’ Emergency Essentials Fund, which supports the most vulnerable Kinship Care families across Edinburgh.

Last Saturday, the newly developed Main Stand at Tynecastle Park welcomed over 100 guests for a Race Night in aid of the Club’s official charity partner.

Big Hearts’ Trustee and Heart of Midlothian’s Chairwoman Ann Budge opened the evening, recognising the fantastic commitment from the 9 Hearts fans who volunteered their time to support the charity’s work.

Harry, Alison, Sharon, Matt, Lisa, Rebekah, Sophie, Russell and Richard will be running under the Club and Charity badges at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival next week.

They decided to organise a Fundraiser ahead of their run in a bid to raise thousands for Big Hearts’ Emergency Essentials Fund – a programme designed to improve the lives of local Kinship Care families facing challenges to purchase essential households items.

We are delighted to reveal today that this evening was an outstanding success with a total of £2,712 collected on the night!

Big Hearts would like to thank again the Volunteers for making this happen and the wide range of sponsors who helped support their efforts including Eden Scott, Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Crail Golf Course and Simpatico Financial Planning.

“We created the ‘Emergency Essentials Fund’ as part of our Kinship Care Programme to offer an additional support for those who struggle to purchase essential households items, ensuring Kinship young people and their carers can maintain a comfortable and healthy family life”. 

“This May Big Hearts is expecting to receive over £7,000 through our EMF Runners’ fundraising efforts. 100% of the donations will go to support some of the most vulnerable Kinship Care families in Edinburgh, via crisis grants delivered by our partner Buttle UK.”
