Making Play Possible!

When we received a call from a local mum explaining that she needed some help in getting a swing secured for her 9 year old son, who has additional support needs, we were delighted to send out an SOS to a couple of our brilliant Big Hearts Volunteers.

And today Stewart and Alan joined forces to make that garden a safe and more exciting place to play!

Big Hearts Volunteer Development Officer, Innes Shirreff, explained how this was a perfect example of our Volunteer Programme in action:

“We were delighted to help today but this was only possible due to a couple of our great volunteers. Stewart and Alan both have experience in these kind of projects and were able to spare us an hour or two.”

“That’s exactly what our volunteer programme is all about, supporters giving their time and expertise in a manner that suits them.”
