In 2018, Big Hearts engaged with 2,285 adults and children across 17 programmes of support.

With a focus on reducing social isolation, we strengthened our existing support and initiated 9 new projects on identified areas of need including men’s mental health, healthy living and extended support to local families outside of school term.

Throughout the year Big Hearts delivered a total of 212 days of cultural/physical activities and 1,485 meals – all free of charge.

Our first Impact Report highlights the outstanding contribution from our community of Big Hearts Supporters. They completed over 3,753 hours of support to 800 vulnerable people by volunteering through Big Hearts’ projects or partner charities in Edinburgh.

Craig Wilson, Big Hearts General Manager said:
“2018 has been a very exciting year for Big Hearts, with new areas of work and more vulnerable people supported than ever before. We believe in the power of football to change lives and our first Impact Report demonstrates how the game is a driving force to reach out and better support the most isolated groups who need our help most.”

“We are excited for the future. Our commitment to reducing social isolation over 2021 remains our main focus. We are looking forward to continuing our close work with the Club, Hearts fans and local partners to create a positive difference in our community.”
