Trusted Trophy tour – A magical day for Kinship Care families

We were thrilled to welcome Kinship Care families on Wednesday for a very special After School Club!

The SPFL Trust was at Tynecastle to launch the ‘’Trusted Trophy Tour’’, a new initiative to highlight inspiring community projects across professional football clubs in Scotland. At this occasion, over 12 families from our Kinship Care programme got a chance to get their photo taken with the Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup Trophies and meet stars of the afternoon, first team players Esmael Goncalves and Malaury Martin along with Club legend John Robertson, who regularly attends Big Hearts’ After School Club.

Special guests at the event also included Donald Wilson, Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh and Tom Baillie, Children and young people’s Commissioner in Scotland. With Big Heart’s Kinship Care programme under the spotlight for the day, we were very proud to show our fantastic After School Club in action to all the guests and media in attendance.

Craig Wilson, Big Hearts’ Interim General Manager said: “We were delighted to welcome the SPFL Trust at Tynecastle. This was a great opportunity for us to once again share the amazing work of our Kinship Care programme and particularly the impact of our After School Club, which welcomes 20 different families at Tynecastle every week.‘’

We would like to thank everyone involved in the success of this event and particularly Mentor UK and the SPFL Trust team who helped create wonderful memories for young people and carers from Kinship Care families.
