U19s Complete Coaching Course

Darren Murray’s U19 squad have taken their first step into a career in coaching by completing the Scottish FA’s Level one Development Activities Certificate. The U19s were joined on the course by Ryan McGowan and Johnny Stewart.
The six-hour course was delivered by Alan White and Scottish FA Football Development Officer, Keith Wright at Riccarton.
Speaking during the course Alan commented “The young players have done really well and have managed to keep a ‘coaching head’ on throughout the course. The level one course activities are not always geared to elite players of their playing standard and they have appreciated that youths in the 12-18 age range may have a large difference in ability and it’s how we as coaches adapt our sessions to suit their needs.”
The U19s will now turn their attention to completing the level two Coaching Youth Footballers Certificate in 2012.
